Horstmann Radio Telemeter Series K Manual
The Horstmann Radio Telemeter Series K is a type of electricity meter that can measure the consumption of electricity in two different rates, usually day and night. The meter is controlled by a radio signal that switches the rates at certain times of the day, depending on the tariff. The meter can also display the total consumption of electricity in both rates.

The meter has a display button that can be pressed to show the different readings. The display will show the following information:
Rate 1: The consumption of electricity in the first rate, usually the day rate.
Rate 2: The consumption of electricity in the second rate, usually the night rate.
Total: The total consumption of electricity in both rates.
Current Rate: The current rate that is being applied, either 1 or 2.
The meter also has a red light that indicates when the radio signal is being received and when the rate is being switched. The light will flash when the signal is being received and will stay on when the rate is switched.
To read the meter, press the display button until the desired reading is shown. Note down the reading and the current rate. Repeat this process until all the readings are recorded. The readings are shown in kilowatt-hours (kWh), which are units of energy. One kWh is equivalent to using 1000 watts of power for one hour.
To calculate the cost of electricity, multiply the readings by the unit price of each rate. The unit price is usually shown on the electricity bill or can be obtained from the supplier. Add up the costs of both rates to get the total cost of electricity.
For example, if the readings are:
Rate 15000 kWh
Rate 23000 kWh
Total8000 kWh
Current Rate1
And the unit prices are:
Rate 1$0.15 per kWh
Rate 2$0.10 per kWh
The cost of electricity is:
Rate 1$0.15 x 5000 = $750
Rate 2$0.10 x 3000 = $300
Total$750 + $300 = $1050
